More Commercial Work

2010 wrapped up with more commercial work for Mary Beth's Photography!  I had the pleasure of taking a portrait of the staff at Posey Funeral Home.  The portrait was run as part of their holiday advertisement in The North Augusta Star.  For more information about my services, please visit my website www.MaryBethsPhotography.info.

Time with the Family

I have one big, incredible family and whenever I am visiting them or they are visiting us, I always have my camera ready to capture sweet moments and special times.  This last month has been no different.

The best part is the quality time has been spent with some of my nieces and nephews.  Trapper is my sister's son.  His life is about to change dramatically as my sister is giving birth to twins in a month.  He will be such a great big brother and a wonderful helper to my sister and brother-in-law.

Justin and Amelia are my husband's sister's children.  While they were staying with us, I surprised Stacy and took a bunch of pictures of them.  She was so thankful because she was running out of time for Christmas card portraits.  I can't believe how these children have grown!

Exchange of Services

Owning my own business means I get to set some rules and one of those rules is to be open to different forms of payment!  Now, I am not talking about accepting fake bills or chickens, but I am talking about exchange of services.

A perfect fit happened recently when I needed a logo for my business and Courtney Radtke needed portraits of her family.

My new logo has been being used for months now and recently I was able to pay Courtney back by taking portraits at Brick Pond Park.  Maddox, her son, was adorable with his fire engine red hair and being always on the go!

Special thanks to Courtney for her great work on my logo.  Check out her work as a graphic design artist at www.CRGraphicDesign.org

Beautiful Family, Beautiful Park

Millie, Michael, Marshall and Walker met me at Brick Pond Park for their family portrait session and we had such a great time!

I couldn't believe how perfectly the family's outfits complimented the scenery at the park; Millie picked out the outfits for her family.  The boys are so well behaved and so super sweet.  Marshall, the older son, wrapped up the portrait session by singing us a song that he made up and showing us some of his artwork.  What a talented little boy!

And how cute is the picture of the boys sitting on the suitcases!  Looks like they are heading out of town for a road trip!  Thank you Robinson Family for a wonderful afternoon!

Ellie's First Birthday Celebration

Seriously, couldn't you just stare at these pictures all day?

Little Ellie visited me in my studio for her first birthday portrait session.  With a beautiful white backdrop, Ellie delicately got into her cake.

Ellie was so bubbly and just loved her cake.  Isn't Ellie's outfit adorable?  Ellie's Mom borrowed the outfit from a friend to take the pictures.  What a beautiful girl!

Double Portrait Session on Cold Day

I had a great double portrait session with the Pond Family.

Mandy, Brad and their handsome little boys were so much fun to photograph and were such troopers despite the FREEZING cold weather.

I met Mandy in Mother's Club and when she called for an appointment, I figured the perfect setting for her family's portraits would be the train depot in Augusta. I even brought props for the session - three green suitcases, which you will see featured in a few other portrait sessions this year.  I think it added a charming element to the portraits.

The second half of our time together was spent taking portraits of the littlest Pond's first birthday!    He was so cute and so delicate about eating his cake and just ate the dots off the cake.  So many memories captured!

Christmas Card Portrait on a Winter Day

I can't help it... I just love Christmas portraits!  I love looking through the lens of my camera and love seeing the pictures that will send out holiday joy and cheer.

Emme's Mom, Bridgette, picked this beautiful location in downtown Augusta.  Between Emme's beautiful outfit and the scenery, I don't think there was a more perfect location.

It would have been a little nicer if it hadn't been so very, very cold, but Emme just warmed up the space.  I couldn't believe when I was going through the portraits of the day how Emme looked so mature in a beautiful little girl's body - can it be that I have been taking her picture for the last year?

She is a pure pleasure to photograph and I know that her Christmas card will be so precious!

Fun Times, Funny Stories and Fun Family

If you couldn't tell from the pictures, this portrait session was by far the most fun I have had on any session.

Rhonda and Trevor Ward and their children are so very funny and so full of energy.  I knew they would be a great family to try out different creative portraits and to take portraits that showed off their great personalities!

I should have known that the session was going to be fun from the moment they scheduled it.

When Rhonda and I were speaking she asked for some advice on what to wear to the portrait session.  I recommended that the family dress in brown.  Ironically enough, Trevor is a UPS employee and my suggestion led to quite a bit of laughter from his children!  Thanks for a great afternoon Ward Family!
