{ Sweet Chesnie - A Dream Newborn }

Last year, I made a big decision in my professional life.  I wanted my clients to have an “experience” with me.  Not one of those “run-of-your-mill” photographer experiences, but one that left the impression of how I feel and how I have always felt about my clients – I am so very thankful for being your photographer of choice.

I teamed with La Dolce in Aiken and bring clients special desserts during our Session Viewings, I try to be proactive in figuring out what outfits/locations/props would work well for who my clients are and have tried to find resources that fit my clients’ needs to taking classes to improve my photography skills.

When Chesnie Tucker came to my studio, I felt like I had a new outlook on my newborn sessions and an ace in my pocket by the name of Terrie Lehi, one of the members of my team who keep me running on a daily basis.  At one 4 a.m. prior to the session, I had an epiphany about how I manage newborn sessions.

I did a bit of research, called Terrie (when the sun was up) and headed to the kitchen.  I had spoken with Chesnie’s Mom about how I recommend making the newborn session successful, from timing of the session to how well-fed Chesnie should be prior to our start.  I made yogurt parfaits and muffins before Chesnie and her Mom arrived.

And just like I have always been told, being well planned worked.  Chesnie, who by the way was one of the best newborns EVER, slept the whole time.  Her Mom was able to sit back and watch her daughter being a model for the day while feeling pampered with the sweet treats I made.

I was able to work with Terrie to use many of my tricks to get the perfect shot and keep sweet little Chesnie safe.  It was an amazing time and I really think the portraits express that!  Now, if I could only figure out how to make moments of preparation happen during the daylight!  www.MaryBethsPhotography.info

{ Pinterest Ideas and an Adorable Session }

The Naggar Family is such a wonderful family.

Dr. Naggar is one of the pediatricians in the group where we bring our children and I was so excited to take her son's portraits.

What a great thing it was that we had my warm, cozy studio to retreat to because it was cold and chilly outside during their portrait session.

One of the best parts of the session was the ideas Dr. Naggar sent to me from a search on Pinterest!  I love when my clients send me their cute ideas!

You can follow me on Pinterest to see some ideas I have started pinning!  www.Pinterest.com/MBPhotographySC.  Also visit my website www.MaryBethsPhotography.info

Living History Park and the Stalvey Family

I can’t believe how much Living History Park in North Augusta amazes me every time I go there - this picturesque park is home to streams, bridges and an open grass field.

Even though it does require a reservation, it is worth it, because it is a photographer’s dream outdoor shooting location.

I was so excited to meet Layne, Chad and their daughter, Noah at Living History Park one beautiful evening!  And what a delightful family.

Noah is such a sweet little girl who was just all smiles!  Look at all the ways we used the park to capture this beautiful family.   www.MaryBethsPhotography.info

{ A Beautiful Four Month Old }

I just love when my clients have outfits ready for portrait sessions that are so cute and stylish!

Sydney’s Mom took it the next step and sent me a picture message on my phone of the outfits so that I could prepare the appropriate backgrounds.  I think the preparation and planning helped to make our session move along very nicely.

Four months is a tough age to capture smiles and interaction, but the camera loved Sydney’s sweet face.  Isn’t she so sweet!?!  I love the portraits of her in the basket – like she is the best little treat!  www.MaryBethsPhotography.info

{ Watching the Toney Boys Grow }

I have been taking portraits of the Toney family since Nolan was 6 months old.  Look at him now... 4 years old!!

I have loved watching the boys grow up since meeting Amy in Mother’s Club so many years ago.  Life has changed for us... as it always does.

Amy and her family have moved out near Greenbrier and I had a fabulous time taking the portraits at a pond area near Greenbrier Elementary School, right near their subdivision and their new home.

Over Christmas break, they moved into their new home and it is just precious.  Thanks Toney Family- You are always such a fabulous family to photograph!!  www.MaryBethsPhotography.info

{ A Special Portrait Session for A Special Family}

The Nichols Family are very special to my family, as Melanie and Ralph are dear friends and our daughter’s Godparents.

It was so much fun taking portraits of Melanie, Ralph and their daughter Gini Blake!

Despite it being a very cold day at Hammond’s Ferry (everyone had gloves on and we were all still freezing), we had a wonderful time taking family and individual portraits as well as Christmas portraits.

I even had the pleasure of seeing them again to take portraits of Gini Blake in her toe shoes and ballet outfit, along with her cheerleader uniform.   www.MaryBethsPhotography.info

{ Windy Day Turns Out Wonderful }

Annah Aggerton was looking for someone to take her Senior Portraits and saw my work from other seniors.

When she called me, I knew her session was going to be wonderfully different.  Annah and her boyfriend met me at Hammonds Ferry on a very windy day, and despite our contemplation about whether or not to take the portraits, I would say we made a great choice.

Annah is just beautiful and the scenery simply enhanced her beauty.  I loved adding the couch into nature.  After she  graduates from Curtis Baptist School, Annah will be attending college.

What a great time I had capturing your special Senior memories Annah!  www.MaryBethsPhotography.info

{ Skylar Turns ONE! A Full Circle of Portraits! }

I can not believe that Skylar is one!!!

I also can not believe how lucky I have been to capture her on this first year journey of life.  When I first met Skylar, she was a newborn.

Her Mom decided to use me to do a full year of portraits, capturing important milestones - newborn, six months and one year.

As the final round of the three, we did “three-in-one” - “Smash the Cake”, “Christmas”, and “One Year”.  Well, Skylar was as cute as ever and one of the best babies I have ever photographed.

As a studio session, we had a few outfit changes for Skylar and had to rinse her from head to toe after her “Smash the Cake” session - she didn’t know what to think of the cake and didn’t eat a whole lot.

I was so happy to present to Skylar’s family a storyboard, showing their beautiful girl over the last year.  www.MaryBethsPhotography.info
